ANDRIY "KHOMA" SNITKO WAS POSTHUMOUSLY AWARDED THE TITLE OF A HERO OF UKRAINE

November 21, 2016 President of Ukraine signed a decree, according to which Andriy Snitko ( Khoma , the AZOV battalion soldier, received the title of a Hero of Ukraine

Since youthful yeras, Khoma displaye patriotism and readiness to sacrifice in the name of the national idea. He was a passionate patriot of his country before the revolution, as a member of the nationalist organization "Patriot of Ukraine " from the very beginning joined the national uprising on the Maidan, was a part of the guerrilla group of "little black men," and, finally, one of the youngest volunteers of the AZOV battalion. Despite his young age, Andriy has always put common good above personal interests.

His life abruptly ended August 20, 2014 in the city of Ilovaysk, during one of the bloodiest battles in the East of Ukraine His death bears a heroic symbolism: defending his comrades, Andriy laid his chest down on the grenade and covered them from danger with his own body. At the cost of his life, he saved his brothers from a certain death.

Heroism of the comrade is not only a big loss for the entire AZOV movement, but also a great example of courage and recklessness. In this war have fallen many worthy young guys who should have lived for this country, not died. We owe Khoma and heroes like him our lives.
